The Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE) opens a bachelor and master degree study program Cybernetics and Robotics. This program builds on the tradition of the top-notch research at FEE. Its goal is to train experts in fields where informatics and computer science meet the real world: cybernetics, robotics, automatic control, measurement systems and instrumentation, aircraft and space systems. In these areas, FEE has a high international reputation for its research results, tuition quality, and long tradition in industrial cooperation.
For study in English, only Systems and Control branch is offered in the bachelor program. In the Master program all mandatory courses are available in English.
Why should you study Cybernetics and Robotics at CTU FEE in Prague?
CTU is the top technological university in the Czech Republic. It is the only Czech technological university listed among 500 best universities in the world. FEE is one of the best faculties at CTU when measured with scientific results. In the field of cybernetics and robotics, we have many world-class experts and some of our teams belong to the world leading research groups. Many experienced practitioners from industry take part in teaching. We cooperate with many Czech and foreign companies and more than 75 percent of our income comes from research projects.
The Cybernetics and Robotics study program has a modern conception which is based on suggestions of international professional organizations (IEEE – Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IFAC – International Federation of Automatic Control, …). The lectures and theoretical studies are well balanced with a creative work in our modern and well-equipped laboratories. Our education gives our students a solid theoretical background which opens a way to a life-long ability to adapt to new knowledge and technologies. The content of our program is comparable to similar programs at the best universities in the world. We use standard English textbooks of renowned authors and modern teaching aids. High emphasis is put on practical projects and individual work. Many project specifications come directly from industry. Our students will learn not only how to create and build something, but also to present and sell their results. They will find the knowledge gained in our study program useful even if their carrier will eventually lead them away from cybernetics or robotics.
The program offers a great amount of freedom in choosing elective subjects. Besides the compulsory subjects of the main branch, students can choose the offered subjects of other study branches and study programs. The compulsory subjects will provide the students with solid theoretical foundations, while the elective subjects give them a chance to develop their abilities e.g. in team work and to improve their knowledge in related areas from industry, trasportation, bio- and medical areas to economics, social sciences, and humanities.
